Aida Tomiyasu was the art name of Ibara Meijirō, who was born and worked in Chibe Prefecture. He was known for his metal casting, and his works were included in the annual government exhibitions, starting with the Teiten in 1929 and winning the grand prize at the 1948 Nitten. He later became a juror and board director for the exhibitions., Aida also showed at the exhibition of Japanese contemporary art that traveled to New York and San Francisco during the 1939 New York World
