Artist:Kanamori Eiichi 金森映井智 (1908-2001)
Description: Cast bronze, flower vase with a design in silver and copper (rōgin). - In 1928 Eiichi graduated the Toyama School of Crafts to apprentice under Uchijima Ippei (Seiho). In 1931 he set out on his own, being first accepted into the juried Teiten National Exhibition just two years later in 1933. Exactly one decade after putting up his own flag he was invited to serve as professor at his alma matter, a position he held until 1970. He was often prized over his long lifetime, designated a intangible cultural property (colloquially known as living National Treasure) in 1989.
