Artist:Araki Jippo 荒木 十畝 (1877- 1944)
Description: Painting on silk of a small heron on a willow tree. Jippo was the adopted son and pupil of the well known painter Araki Kampo. He founded a Japanese painting society in 1897 and had an exhibit at the Japan-British exhibition in London in 1910 where he was awarded a gold prize.
