Description: Mizusashi (water jar used in the tea ceremony), takatori style. Multi-coloured glaze, with elegant use of the technique of "running" glaze. With black lacquer lid in an irregular shape fitting the mizusashi perfectly. With cloth, with wooden tag reading ‘Made by Miraku, Takatori [style] (味楽作, 高取 Miraku saku, Takatori). Signed on the bottom: Miraku 味楽 and 高 i.e. takatori style (高取焼). With original box, with reads on the side Inscription on the bottom reads: ‘Takatori, Water vessel, made by Miraku’ (Mizusashi, Miraku zō) with artist seal reading Miraku. *Trained with his grandfather Miraku from the age of sixteen, who taught taught him the basic principles of the Takatori ceramics. He became the fourteenth generation family head at twenty-eight in 1960 (Kameika Miraku kiln, Takatori school). In 1977, named Holder of an Intangible Cultural Asset of Fukuoka City, in 1999 awarded the title of Contemporary Famous Craftsman by the Japanese government.
