*Lacquer artisan from Sabae city, Fukui prefecture. Specializing in Wajima lacquerware maki-e . In 1966 studied technique of maki-e for five years as a pupil of Arai Masaharu 荒井正春. In 1973 he started working independently. He has won prizes at the Nichigei (Nihon University College of Art) and at the Nihon Shikkō Kyōkai (Japan Urushi Association). | Signed: | On inner lid in red lacquer.
