Inner lid monogram signature in red lacquer by Hansō Sōshitsu (b. 1923, 15th-generation Grand Master (iemoto) of Urasenke, which is one of the most widely known schools of Japanese tea). The natsume comes with an original box and a paper box, wich also bears a red seal reading the Zen title of Hansō Sōshitsu which he received in 1949 (Hōunsai 鵬雲斎)
With original box, signed by the artist and with artist’s seal. Inner lid inscription reads ‘spool of thread, black lacquer middle-sized natsume’ (itomaki kuro chū-natsume).
