Description: Painting on silk of a crow on a bamboo stalk. C. 1920. Takeuchi Seiho is of the dominant painters in Kyoto around 1900. He was a pupil of Kono Bairei. He received many assignments from rich collectors. After going to Europe he incorporated Western elements in his style. Dated on the inside of the box: 1908, Meiji Hinoto Hitsuji, 12th month. In original box.
Signed:Seiho, plus seal.
