Description: A set of three paintings on silk, a triptych exploring the theme of setsugekka. Setsugekka 雪月花 (or Setsu getsu ka : Snow, moon and flowers) is a theme refering to the seasons: snow as a representative of winter, the moon as a reference to autumn and the depiction of flowers (often blooming cherry blossoms) as a signalling of spring. With original box, reading 'Setsugekka', signed 'Tsukioka Sessai hitsu'.
Signed:Hogen Tsukioka Sessai 法眼月岡雪斎 with artist seal.
