Description: A turquoise water and mountain landscape painting on silk of a mountainous valley with pine trees. With original box reading:Picture by Keizan of a turquoise pine tree valley, hidden in the mist ( 瓊山八青緑松壑幽隠図 Keizan Hachi Aomidori matsu tani kasuka kakushi zu). The number eight on the lid of the box might indicate that this is his Keizan's eighth painting of a pine tree valley, as there exist several Keizan pine tree valley paintings. Two of these, from 1909 and 1912, are seen as some of his best works: one can be found in the collection of the Nagasaki Prefectural Art museum. *Calligrapher and Nanga artist born in Nagasaki, moved to Kyoto in 1907. From 18 years old he studied Nanga painting under Moriyama Shōhan 守山湘颿 and calligraphy under Okada Kōsho 岡田篁所. During his visit to China befriended numerous prominent artists.

Condition:Very good general condition, a small stain on one character of the calligraphy.
