With original box reading:Picture by Keizan of a turquoise pine tree valley, hidden in the mist ( 瓊山八青緑松壑幽隠図 Keizan Hachi Aomidori matsu tani kasuka kakushi zu). The number eight on the lid of the box might indicate that this is his Keizan's eighth painting of a pine tree valley, as there exist several Keizan pine tree valley paintings. Two of these, from 1909 and 1912, are seen as some of his best works: one can be found in the collection of the Nagasaki Prefectural Art museum.
*Calligrapher and Nanga artist born in Nagasaki, moved to Kyoto in 1907. From 18 years old he studied Nanga painting under Moriyama Shōhan 守山湘颿 and calligraphy under Okada Kōsho 岡田篁所.
