Description: Elegant vermilion lacquer Teoke (手桶) (bucket-shaped) mizusashi. Interior and bottom of black lacquer coating. A silver protruding ring spans the upper and lower part of the body of the mizusashi. This ring is either composed out of silver, brass, or black lacquer. Three small supports slightly elevate the mizusashi and make sure the black lacquer bottom remains perfectly unscratched. With tomo-buta lid (共蓋: a lid that comes together with the mizusashi, meaning that it is from the same material and with the same design as the mizusashi. This type of lid is higher in ranking than the Kae-buta 替蓋, a separate lid of lacquered wood that is made on order to fit the mizusashi.) With original signed box, inscription reads: vermilion bucket-shaped mizusashi (aka teoke-gata mizusashi). *Born in Kyoto, son of first generation Kōnyū (b.1923). In 1965 started studying under his father. In 2000 he succeeded his father and became the second generation Suzuki Kōnyū.
