Description: Black lacquer hira (flat) natsume, decorated with a pine tree in brown and gold lacquer. Silver interior. Inner lid in red lacquer, monogram by Urasenke tea ceremony school: Sen Sōshitsu XV (b.1923) (Zen title Hōunsai) , the 15th generation Grand Master of the Urasenke school of tea ceremony. With original signed box, inscription reading old pine tree, hira natsume. *Kiyose was a lacquer artist working in Kanazawa, where his son (Ikkō II, b. 1942) continues working in lacquer and succeeded him in 1986.
