Description: Glass natsume, decorated with three fish in gold lacquer swimming downstream. Beautiful creative use of the materials, with glass bubbles mimicing water bubbles. With red lacquer lid. With original signed box. *Born in Sabae city, Fukui prefecture. Specializing in Wajima lacquerware maki-e. From 1966 studied maki-e techniques for five years under lacquer artisan Arai Masaharu. Afterwards he studied under 高崎秋峰. Won prizes at Nichigei (Nihon University College of Art) and the Japanese Lacquer Arts Association (Nihon Shikkō Kyōkai). Since 1973 working independently.
