Description: Unlacquered wooden natsume with beautiful woodgrain visible, with a playful crawling kajika frog climbing up toward the lid. The frog jumps out due to its thick texture, a mixture of gold, brown and silver lacquer in several hues, with clever silver details on the feet. The frog is grasping for the center of the wood rings, which brings to mind the Buddhist story of a monkey trying to capture the moon’s reflection in the water. The monkey falls is, symbolizing unenlightened people who fail to distinguish between reality and illusion. No box.
