Description: Elegant medium size six panel folding screen of a mountain chain with distant mountains shrouded in misty clouds, painted on paper. The mountains on the foreground are dotted with countless beautiful pine trees in different shades of green. The rugged mountain peaks in the background create depth and are set against a soft yellow gold background. Due to the clever composition and high artistic skill, this screen convincingly draws the viewer into the sublime beauty and grandeur of monumental nature. *Iwata Toyomaru was born in the city of Tsu and lived and worked in Yokohama. He was a pupil of Nihonga (Japanese-style painting) artist Komori Tomoto (1864-1931).
