| Stockno.: | S22-011 | Artist: | Kawai Gyokudō (1873-1957) | Description: | Scroll painting of two swimming fish painted with ink on paper, mounted on silk. Minimalistic yet naturalistic painted fish that seem extremely life-like, pictured swimming underneath the water surface with just a few masterful curved brush lines. Interesting uncommon composition: the painting is horizontal, while the mounting is vertical.
With original signed box, inscription reads ‘fish swimming about in water’ (yūgyo).
